How do you build a website if you wish to make money online through affiliate marketing?
Are you looking for step by step instructions on how to build a website, make money online and learn about affiliate marketing? I am too. I started this blog to record the steps I have taken in my attempt to do just that. This website is my journal and I hope that as I record my journey it will help others in their endeavour to build an online business.
Some links on this page and throughout my website may be affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of my links I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. For full disclosure, you can view my affiliate disclosure page.
You will not find pages of fluff and testimonial pointing to a dozen “click here” links on every page. Just quick, simple steps and straightforward commentary. I will link occasionally to those websites I use but try to avoid ‘sales’ pages, and yes some will be affiliate links, after all, I do wish to make money online.
The first step to build a website.
The very first step I took was to find a website teaching program designed to teach how to build a website quickly and easily. With an Affiliate program, so that I could refer this site to others if I thought it did the job and I was happy.
After careful consideration, I decided to join Wealthy Affiliate.
This website gives the basics of how to brainstorm ideas for and set up a website. It also provides basic training on affiliate marketing. You can join for free and it will host for you two free SiteRubix websites. This means you can get started without even the cost of a domain name. You will receive basic training as a free member. For the first week, you will have some bonus features available that are usually only available to paid members.
There is also a premium membership which opens us an extensive training section, along with training provided by members, further hosting opportunities together with hosting of up to 25 of your own domain websites (ie not SiteRubix).
Within this website is a mountain of information to help you build a website and get it up and running, finding ideas to promote products and the tools to bring it all together. It is an absolute gem. The above is an affiliate link, as I aim to make money online and to do so I will join affiliate programs on the sites I use and like. I will only promote those that I do like. If you chose to become a Premium (paid) member, it will cost you the same whether you join through my link, or directly from Google.
There is a wonderful community all helping each other with basic “help this has happened” questions and constructive evaluations of your work. Unlike other programs, the community is confident discussing the content of their websites under construction, rather than worrying that someone else might steal their idea.
Members also help each other by reviewing posts or websites and offering feedback and comments. It really is a community.
Start up cost is $0…..
There is an opportunity to upgrade to premium, if you so desire and whilst this is a wonderful opportunity, you still have the opportunity to learn the basics and earn money even as a free member. How good is that….
Starter Member benefits
As a (free) starter member, you can get two SiteRubix websites up and running.
You can also read blogs by members within the site that give helpful advice on a multitude of topics. This could be on how to promote through social media, ideas on how to find a niche and lots more. Members are free to write informative blogs and many do just to help others find a great way to build their website. There is a lot more than just the basic training supplied by the website founders.
As a premium member, you can get a further 23 SiteRubix plus another 25 with your own domain name, and much more information so that you can turn your basic website into a fantastic website. I chose to upgrade so that I could use my already sourced dot com domain names. For future email marketing, this is a better email option.
I recommend a FREE startup. Get yourself involved in the community during the first 7 days while you have access to more content.
Get your two websites up and running, then complete the rest of the steps to find products and customers and if you start making some money or decide you want to continue to build and upgrade your website – then you can decide if the premium package is beneficial. That is what I did.
I have done a complete review on Wealthy Affiliate and you can find it on this blog page.
