Had a very busy week. Head stuck in computer at least 10 hours a day. Set up my Twitter profile. If you have a twitter profile, I would love you to share this website.
Working through the Wealthy Affiliate website building training course. This is in the premium (paid) section. I chose to upgrade as it allowed me to have my own dot com domain name and learn so much more about how to build a website from scratch. I was unfortunate once and spent $1500 getting a website built by a geek who didn’t host it properly – so when some lovely person got in and corrupted the site, I had no backup to restore. This time I am doing it myself. And at a fraction of the cost.
I had to go running to another website builder in a hurry to start again. Whenever I have had to make minor adjustments to the layout (not the text), it has cost me money as well. So with this website I decided to do it myself. And at a fraction of the cost.
I now know how to add photos to my posts and have done so on the previous posts. What do you think? Look OK? I think I need to take photography lessons, trying to find suitable photos from my album was a bit like trying to find a needle in a haystack. So cheated and got some from freeimages.com. as well.
Also added an email opt-in so you can now get my blog posts directly to your email inbox. Love to see some people opt-in so I don’t feel so lonely, and stop me wondering whether I am talking to myself!!!!!! or maybe I am. I added a plugin so that I can automatically send my blog posts to people as well as have the option to do newsletters later.
I joined a course on email marketing which is teaching me how to set up email campaigns and it is good, however as soon as I start this they are trying to sell me another course and another course so having to keep saying NO, don’t want to keep spending lots of money with you. I want to work through what I have now and put it all together. I am looking at the email marketing as a means to promote my products when I get them to Amazon.
At the moment, I am still researching what those products will be. Getting close to a couple of choices but haven’t tracked down manufacturers yet. I am currently reworking the course I joined which is Reliable.Education. (this is an affiliate link). Every time I watch the videos I pick up something I missed before. I have also been looking at other people’s youtube videos, reading books and attending seminars to help with thought processes and ideas on products to source.
When I join an affiliate program, it is because I like and believe in the product. I am not just revieiwing a product.
I am researching facebook and other social media advertising to build an email list of people interested in particular products so that I can source those products to promote them, as well as sell directly on Amazon. This is completely separate to my blog of course but one of my goals is to make money online so that I spend less time doing face to face sales. That is the whole point of all the time I am currently spending with my head stuck in the computer. I dream of a life where I can travel wherever and whenever or just stay put with feet up on the river bank, I want the choice.
Have a great day. Love to hear your feedback
