Update May 2017
I have had a very busy week. My head has been stuck in the computer at least 10 hours a day. I have set up my Twitter profile. If you have a twitter profile, I would love you to share this website.
Some links on this page and throughout my website may be affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of my links I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. For full disclosure, you can view my affiliate disclosure page.
Working through the Wealthy Affiliate website building training course. I spoke about this website in my previous post.
I am a premium (paid) member. I chose to upgrade as it allowed me to have my own dot-com domain name and learn so much more about how to build a website from scratch.
I was unfortunate once and spent $1500 getting a website built by a geek who didn’t host it properly – so when some lovely person got in and corrupted the site, I had no backup to restore.
I had to go running to another website builder in a hurry to start again. Whenever I have had to make minor adjustments to the layout (not the text), it has cost me money as well. So with this website, I have decided to do it myself. And at a fraction of the cost.
I now know how to add photos to my posts and have done so on the previous posts. What do you think? Look OK? I think I need to take photography lessons, trying to find suitable photos from my album was a bit like trying to find a needle in a haystack. So cheated and got some from freeimages.com. as well.
I also use the free version of Canva and this has allowed me to add photos with text blocks onto my posts. I will use these later for Pinterest and perhaps Instagram. I hope that this will attract people to my blog.
I have added an email opt-in so you can now get my blog posts directly to your email inbox. Love to see some people opt-in so I don’t feel so lonely and maybe it will stop me wondering whether I am talking to myself!!!!!! or maybe I am. I added a plugin so that I can automatically send my blog posts to people as well as have the option to do newsletters later.
I joined a course on email marketing which is teaching me how to set up email campaigns and it is good, however as soon as I start this they are trying to sell me another course and another course so having to keep saying NO, don’t want to keep spending lots of money with you. I want to work through what I have now and put it all together. I am looking at the email marketing for affiliate marketing in the future, as well as a means to promote my products when I get them to Amazon.
At the moment, I am still researching what my Amazon products will be. I have used my Amazon training to increase the product range in my existing business, so all is going very well. I am getting close to a couple of choices for Amazon, but haven’t tracked down manufacturers yet.
I am currently reworking the course I joined which is Reliable Education. Every time I watch the videos I pick up something I missed before. I have also been looking at other people’s youtube videos, reading books and attending seminars to help with thought processes and ideas on products to source.
When I join an affiliate program, it is because I like and believe in the product. I am not just reviewing a product. If you join through me, I may receive a small commision at no extra cost to you.
I am researching Facebook and other social media advertising and hoping to build an email list. I do not believe in putting all of my eggs in one basket. This is completely separate to my blog of course but one of my goals is to make money online so that I spend less time doing face to face sales. That is the whole point of all the time I am currently spending with my head stuck in the computer. I dream of a life where I can travel wherever and whenever or just stay put with feet up on the river bank, I want the choice.
Have a great day. Love to hear your feedback
